How did we get here?

Having experience as formers teachers and as parents, we began to realize just how limiting the traditional system of education can be, especially for students who are self-motivated and eager to learn.  As an Acton-affiliated academy, we recognize that education, just like life itself, is a hero's journey, and we owe it to our own children to allow them to forge their own paths and to experience the responsibility and joy that comes with doing so. 

At Pioneer Acton we believe in the traditional values that helped the American pioneers build our great country: self-reliance, independence, grit, and willingness to take risks. Those values and the entrepreneurial spirit that defined America's pioneers are the same ones that children of today must possess in order to lead successful and fulfilling lives.

We also recognize the importance of freedom and individual rights. We believe that as learners are exposed to and embrace these values, they become better equipped to make decisions independently, never giving into peer pressure or "group think," but rather acting upon their own convictions and making choices that will ultimately lead to their own happiness.
